SHOEXPO Winner from IUE Vocational School
The 4th International Footwear Design Competition as part of the SHOEXPO Izmir Footwear and Bags Fair was organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality IZFAS.
While shoe designs are based on a theme each year in the International Footwear Design Competition, this year no specific theme was specified. This way, with a broader design scope, young talents came up with very interesting projects. The jury evaluated 115 designs. After the initial evaluations, 8 finalist in the ‘Women’s’ category, and 9 in the 'Men’s' category were selected. Those, who ranked among the 17 finalists, were announced at the ceremony.
Hasan Utku, student at IUE Vocational School, Footwear Design and Manufacturing Program, came in first place at the 'Men’s' category. Usta, who received 10.000 TL as an award, received his award from Mustafa Özuslu, Acting Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.
