    Learning of description of basic number concepts, instantiation of numbers, sets, inequalities, problems, equations, functions ve trigonometry


    MIST 102  Ventilation-Air Conditioning Technology

    Basic physical and chemical concepts. Unit systems. Latent and sensible heat, temperature and temperature measurement. Pressure and pressure measurement. Gas and gas equations. Work, power and energy. Heat transfer and heat transfer modes: Conduction, convection and radiation. Basic fluid properties, flow types. Continuity andf energy equations. Flow in channels and pipes. Definiton of cooling, cooling types, basic mechanical, compression cooling cycle and applications, examples. Cooling cycles on P-h diagram. Definiton of air-conditioning, types and application areas. Psychrometric diagram.


    TRK 101  Turkish I

    Students will be taught how to use the written communication tools accurately and efficiently in this course. Various types of written statements will be examined through a critical point of view by doing exercises on understanding, telling, reading, and writing. Punctuation and spelling rules, which are basis of written statement, will be taught and accurate usage of these rules for efficient and strong expression will be provided.

    This is a compulsory English course which provides basic language skills such as reading, writing, listening and speaking at the beginning level.


    FZK 101  Physics I

    Separation of static and dynamic systems. Calculations of thermal and fluid systems.


    TRES 101  Technical Drawing

    Basic AutoCAD commands. Projections of drawings. Perpectives of drawings. Basic view of drawings. Cross sectioning.


    TRH 101  Princ. of Atatürk and Hist. of Revol. I

    This course provides a general information of the events from the end of the 19. century until the end of the Turkish War of Independence and the signing of the Treaty of Lausanne in 1923.


    IUE 100  Orientation and Career Planning

    The course will help students recognize the skills needed for university life and their career goals. These skills include self-awareness, goal setting, time management, effective communication, mindfulness and analytical thinking. The course will also raise students’ awareness on problems such as addiction and bullying.


    ELKT 103  Basic Electrics

    Conductor connections. Usage of measurement instruments. Setting up serial and parallel circuits. Grounding connections. Setting up temperature, humidity, velocity/vibration, pressure, fluidity, and level sensors.


    TRH 102  Princ. of Atatürk and Hist. of Revol. II

    With special reference to the Principals of Atatürk the course will examine the philosophy of the foundation and existence of the republican regime as well as the democratic developments in secular Turkey during the twentieth century and in the era of extending globalization.


    TRK 102  Turkish II

    Students will be taught how to use the written communication tools accurately and efficiently in this course. There will be exercises on understanding, telling, reading, and writing; types of speeches (panel, symposium, conference, etc.) will be introduced; the student will be equipped with information on using body language, accent and intonation, and presentation techniques.

    Introduction to air conditioning systems and classification. Fundamental psychrometric chart processes.Thermal Comfort. Calculating heating load. Working principles and structures of household air conditioners.


    MIST 106  Computer Aided Drawing

    AutoCAD screen components, methods for determining a point in the coordinate system. The methods for object interlocking and commands of draw tool. Basic commands of drawing and adding text to the drawing. Commands of modifying and zooming tools. Commands for dimensioning and style of dimensioning, Layer settings, settings of layer style, colour and thickness. Initial settings and work surface to draw an isometric perspective. Surface modelling with WCS, UCS, and 3D command, 3D navigation. Solid object modelling with modeling tool. Drawings with basic solid object modelling and editing, shading, scaling. Creation of a library with the principles of climatisation and circuits theory. Drawings of circuits. Drawings of climatisation electrical circuits.


    MIST 110  Household Refrigeration Systems

    Refrigerating systems. Cabinet assembly. Compressors, condensers. Evaporators, filters, capillary tubes. Thermals, relays, capacitors. Thermostats, fans. Refrigerant fluids and oils. Pressurization, vacuum and leak test. Charge, discharge and recovery operations. Measurement and evaluation of pressure, temperature and flow. Theoretical and applied pressure-enthalpy diagram. Calculation of heat capacity of the refrigeration elements.


    ELKT 104  Basic Electronics

    Introduction to semiconductors used in electronic components. p and n type materials and structures and applications of electronic circuit components (Diode, BJT, JFET, MOSFET) made of these materials.

    Welding methods, processes before and after welding.

    MIST 203  Central Air Conditioning Systems

    Selection of central air-conditioning components. Cooling load calculation. Selection of cooling and heating units. Moisturizing, filtration and cooling tower units. Air-conditioning units and operation.


    MIST 205  Commercial Refrigeration Systems

    Cooling systems. The classification of commercial-type cooling systems. The circuit diagrams and the operating principle of commercial-type cooling systems. Compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valve and secondary elements. Service operations in commercial-type cooling systems. Evaluation of the performance in commercial-type cooling systems.

    This course include; Fundamentals of control systems. Components of control systems; contactors, relays, timers, protective relays and basic standarts of control circuits. Programmable logic controllers (PLC); CPU, input and outputs, memory structure. Operating system of PLC and running of user program. Programming languages; statement list, ladder diagram and function block diagram. Basic instruction list, timers, counters, arithmetic and comparing instrucions. Communication protocols. Selection critearies of PLC and industrial applications of PLC topics
