About Us
The aim of the program is to train competent and well-equipped art and technical personnel who possess original ideas and analytical thinking skills, capable of contributing to the preservation and transmission of cultural heritage with aesthetic, historical, and documentary value to future generations. The program focuses on educating individuals who can carry out inventory studies of civil architectural examples, monuments, and monumental structures; who can prepare measured drawings (rölöve), restitution proposals, and restoration/reconstruction projects; and who can take part in the implementation of these projects.
In addition, it aims to cultivate technical staff who are knowledgeable in all essential aspects of the profession, including key principles and methods in fundamental conservation concepts such as restoration and conservation; traditional building types and all load-bearing and non-load-bearing structural components, along with their functions and formal characteristics; properties of materials that make up traditional building technologies and construction systems; fundamental technical drawing principles and computer-aided drafting skills; and the preparation of measured drawings, analysis, current condition assessment, preparation of restoration and restitution projects, and documentation (inventory) of traditional buildings and building elements—thus meeting both national and international professional needs.
Our graduates are employed as technical staff in construction sites, offices, and laboratories of public and private institutions operating in the field of restoration; in restoration projects carried out by foundations; in museums and palaces affiliated with the Directorate of National Palaces or in all private museums; in archaeological excavation teams and fieldwork; and in the design and implementation units of architecture or interior architecture offices.
