Welcome to Civil Aviation Cabin Services Degree
As Izmir University of Economics Vocational School, Department of Civil Aviation Cabin Services, we attach great importance to the qualifications of our lecturers for the quality of our cabin crew training programmes and the professional success of our students. However, when we consider the current situation in Turkey, we observe that the experience of many Civil Aviation Cabin Services staff in the aviation sector is insufficient. We are faced with a situation where people who have worked in ground services, ramp services, passenger services and even in the accounting departments of airline companies can teach the basic courses of Civil Aviation Cabin Services and can be appointed as the Head of Department, and even people who are not directly related to aviation can work as lecturers in these departments.
Our department believes that the people who will serve as lecturers and department managers in Civil Aviation Cabin Services departments should have completed their basic education in an airline company and worked as Cabin Officers and Cabin Supervisors. The fact that these people have performed flight duties, know the aircraft, cabin, passenger and the dynamics of the journey, and are experienced in flight safety and security makes a big difference in the education of our students. In our Department of Civil Aviation Cabin Services, courses such as Normal Safety Rules, Emergency Safety Rules, Catering and Service, Team Resource Management, Flight Psychology and Physiology are taught by lecturers who have worked as Cabin Officers, which is of direct importance for the qualified training of our students.
Has not been on flight duty continuously, has not performed short-long round-trip flights, short-long overnight flights, has not performed in-flight service, does not know service equipment, does not use this equipment, has not received training, does not know in-flight emergency equipment, does not use this equipment, has not received training, has not performed in-flight health-related emergency interventions, has panic attacks, nosebleeds, fever, It is clear that the situations in which people who have not given first aid to a passenger who is out of breath, who has not given first aid to a passenger who has chest pain, who has not experienced an unruly passenger on a flight, who have not intervened in an argument, smoking, physical assault, alcoholic passenger on the aircraft, are teaching Cabin Crew basic courses in the Department of Civil Aviation Cabin Services, prevent students from being adequately prepared for the real situations they will encounter in the sector. For this reason, we set stricter criteria for the qualifications of our lecturers and take care to create a staff consisting of people who are directly connected with the aviation sector and who have worked as Cabin Officers and Cabin Supervisors.
A Cabin Attendant and Cabin Supervisor is familiar with the technical and operational requirements of aviation. People who have served in this position have a deep knowledge and experience in passenger management, cabin services, emergency procedures and flight safety. Transferring these experiences to our students is critical in preparing them for real-world scenarios.
Therefore, we ensure that the people who teach in our Civil Aviation Cabin Services department have direct experience in the aviation industry and have served as Cabin Officers and Cabin Supervisors. This ensures that the most up-to-date and practical information is transferred to our students, improves their professional skills and ensures that they join the sector as well-equipped individuals. Being aware of the fact that the employment of people without aviation experience in such departments negatively affects the quality of education of the students and thus the success of the graduates in the sector, we introduce stricter criteria for the qualifications of our lecturers and take care to create a staff consisting of people directly connected with the aviation sector.
Izmir University of Economics Vocational School of Vocational School of Travel and Language Programmes module, Civil Aviation Cabin Services programme was established to train individuals to meet the needs of airline companies in this field.
