Courses


IEU 110  Academic and Social Orientation

The course will help students recognize the skills needed for university life and their career goals. These skills include self-awareness, goal setting, time management, effective communication, mindfulness and analytical thinking. The course will also raise students’ awareness on problems such as addiction and bullying.


MMAT 113  Mathematics I

Learning of description of basic number concepts, instantiation of numbers, sets, inequalities, problems, equations, functions ve trigonometry


MMVD 105  Basic Processes in Furniture Production

In this lesson, cutting the pieces of furniture in the furniture production, planing, drilling, surface / edge, basic operations such as shaping and surface coating.


MMVD 107  Massive Furniture

In this course ; the machine used in the manufacture of massive furniture with general information about solid materials, and manufacturing processes contain cutting issues of the working principles of workpieces with tools and toolboxes.


MICM 109  Principles of Basic Design

Course contains basic design principles. Visual art elements such aslight-shadow, print, texture are generally used.


ING 101  English I

This is a compulsory English course which provides basic language skills such as reading, writing, listening and speaking at the beginning level.


TRK 100  Turkish

Students will be taught how to use the written and verbal communication tools accurately and efficiently in this course. Various types of verbal and written statements will be examined through a critical point of view by doing exercises on understanding, telling, reading, and writing. Punctuation and spelling rules, which are basis of written statement, will be taught and accurate usage of these rules for efficient and strong expression will be provided. As for verbal statement, students will be taught how to use the body language, use accent and intonation elaborately, and use presentation techniques.


MMIR 101  Technical Drawing

Aim of this course is to make scaled drawings with right drawing techniques and correct use of drawing materials.


MICM 112  Production Techniques in Decoration

This course contains topics such as smart houses, coatings, plaster, doors and windows, work safety and earthquake regulations, insulation, plastering works.


MMVD 104  Place Equipment I

This course, contain products and montage of door, products and montage of window, products and montage of blinds, products and montage of stairs and partition panels.


MICM 104  Computer Aided Drawing I

Working on drawing and presentation techniques using AutoCad and Photoshop programs


MMVD 108  Furniture Design and Construction

This course includes design concept, basic actions, design model and design research, design principles and project creation according to furniture groups used in housing units.


MMVD 110  Furniture Production Technology and Applications

This course includes topics such as general information about modern furniture, cutting and manufacturing of work pieces, top surface processing and assembly, material selection, production methods and relationship between furniture design.


ING 102  English II

This is a compulsory English course which provides basic language skills such as reading, writing, listening and speaking at the beginning level.


TRH 100  Principles of Atatürk and History of Revolution

This course provides a general information of the events from the end of the 19. century until the end of the Turkish War of Independence and the signing of the Treaty of Lausanne in 1923 and the following period until 1990’s.


MYST 104  Summer Training (4 weeks)

Internship, covers field experience at any work place. Students should follow the instructions stated in IUE Internship Guide in order to successfully complete their internships.


MISG 101  Occupational Health And Safety

Risk groups of employees. Occupational health, importance of occupational health outlook, occupational health basics, occupational disease, the definition of work-related diseases-causes and prevention, occupational diseases related to chemical, physical and biological risks of accidents at work, occupational health criteria and application areas, Health the right to security, safety culture concept


MMVD 201  Place Equipment II


MICM 203  Ergonomics

This course includes the definition of ergonomics, importance, ergonomic elements in furniture design and production, ergonomic rules in creating interior space, relation between efficiency and ergonomics, accidents, ergonomic elements in the prevention of accidents.


MMVD 209  Surface Layer Treatments

This course includes topics such as high level reaction preparation, coloring and protective layer formation, surface defects.


MMVD 207  Wood Ornament Techniques I

This course includes manual surface sanding, machine sanding, decapping, wooden inlay, filato in the grocery


MMVD 226  Introduction to Cost Accounting

This course includes cost concept in production, expenditure-expense-cost relationships, costs of production cost and costing methods


MMVD 202  Panel Furniture Production

This course covers plastering and plastering of wood plasterings, massaging, natural coatings and PVC coatings, furniture skeleton installation.


MMVD 204  Computer Aided Production

This course includes the CAM program's 2D CAD module CAM program's 3D CAD module, transferring the program from the computer to the counter, transferring the program from the counter to the computer.


MMVD 208  Wood Ornament Techniques II

This course includes turning preparation, longitudinal turning and turning.


MICM 202  Production Management

This course includes topics such as factory site selection, production methods, plant repair and maintenance planning, product design, factory layout, machine and system capacity calculation, workflow diagrams for preparing minimum cost maximum production plans

MICM 205  Computer Aided Drawing II

The main contents of this course are; surface creation, surface model solid model conversion, block using space creation, creating cross-section drawings.


MINT 230  Professional Ethics

MMVD 212  Quality and Assurance Standards

This course includes building the infrastructure of the quality management system, applying quality standards, and applying statistical quality control methods.


MMVD 213  Drying Technologies

This course includes topics such as timber drying theory, factors affecting drying time, drying defects, special drying methods and steaming facilities.


MMVD 250  Current Approaches in Furniture Design

Furniture design criteria, materials used in furniture making and accessories will be introduced and their properties will be explained. The design process of a furniture is discussed and it includes subjects such as the technical drawings of the furniture design according to the identified problems and related prototypes and then the applications in the work shop environment.


MTOI 225  Entrepreneurship

Providing theoretical information on entepreneurship and formulating a business plan, analyzing successful business models, preparing and presenting business models.


MTOI 230  Consumer Behavior

The role of consumer behavior in marketing; consumer psychology, neuroscience, anthropology and sociology; consumer buying behavior and digital consumption and markets will be the main topics of the course.


RTV 140  Basic Knowledge of Communication

Definition, purpose and importance of communication, elements of communication process, forms of communication.
