TRH 101  Princ. of Atatürk and Hist. of Revol. I

This course provides a general information of the events from the end of the 19. century until the end of the Turkish War of Independence and the signing of the Treaty of Lausanne in 1923.


ING 101  English I

This is a compulsory English course which provides basic language skills such as reading, writing, listening and speaking at the beginning level.


TRK 101  Turkish I

Students will be taught how to use the written communication tools accurately and efficiently in this course. Various types of written statements will be examined through a critical point of view by doing exercises on understanding, telling, reading, and writing. Punctuation and spelling rules, which are basis of written statement, will be taught and accurate usage of these rules for efficient and strong expression will be provided.


BILT 100  Introduction to Computer and Information Technology

This course includespplication and content of the Microsoft Office programs.


RTV 105  Introduction to Photography

In this course, starting from the history of the photograph, respectively, cameras, functioning and principles of operation will be examined, photography techniques, reading, photography, lighting, composition, framing and photo location in the communication process will be discussed.


MGT 131  Typography I

This course is a core element of typography resolution is the basic structure of letters.


MGT 151  Basic Graphic Design

This course is designed for graphic design products of the basic steps of the process, the current device processing involves using methods and practical. In the course of their project work and practical knowledge of students in the laboratory through the creation of software, are the concrete outcomes of the course.


IEU 110  Academic and Social Orientation

The course will help students recognize the skills needed for university life and their career goals. These skills include self-awareness, goal setting, time management, effective communication, mindfulness and analytical thinking. The course will also raise students’ awareness on problems such as addiction and bullying.


MGT 106  Visual Communication

This course covers the visual symbols used in visual communication and the visual language of the theoretical and practical processing. Theoretical and practical knowledge creation as a practical project work with students and the courses they take, are the concrete outputs of course.


MGT 104  Computer Aided Graphic Design

This course is designed graphic design products of the basic steps of the process involves the processing as applied using current devices and methods. Projects and students through the creation of software in the laboratory practical information they receive in the course are about concrete outcomes


MGT 108  User Interface Design

This course will learn the current principles and theories for mobile devices, the web page for the relevant devices and their interface graphics and visualization of mobile applications is a successful learning as applied to construction methods.


MGT 102  History of Graphic Design

This course is located on graphic design artwork, designs, art trends and designers are about to examine concrete outcomes.


MGT 132  Typography II

This course analyzes the basic structure and recognition of the letters, which are the main elements of typography course tangible outputs.

TRK 102  Turkish II

Students will be taught how to use the written communication tools accurately and efficiently in this course. There will be exercises on understanding, telling, reading, and writing; types of speeches (panel, symposium, conference, etc.) will be introduced; the student will be equipped with information on using body language, accent and intonation, and presentation techniques.


TRH 102  Princ. of Atatürk and Hist. of Revol. II

With special reference to the Principals of Atatürk the course will examine the philosophy of the foundation and existence of the republican regime as well as the democratic developments in secular Turkey during the twentieth century and in the era of extending globalization.


MYST 104  Summer Training (4 weeks)

Internship, covers field experience at any work place. Students should follow the instructions stated in IUE Internship Guide in order to successfully complete their internships.

The main themes of the course; To be able to design three-dimensional packaging by using graphic design elements and principles, taking into account the product, target audience and sector details.


MGT 225  Graphic Applications on Social Media

Fundamental steps of graphical production processes regarding social media based on visual communication design and applications on related machines constitute the course content.


MGT 226  Introduction to Computer Aided Graphic Design

Within this course, basics of graphic design software will be taught to the students. Through theoretical explanations and applications, students will be able to learn to use commonly used software in the industry and they will be able to make various projects applications.


MGT 227  Recent Approaches in Graphics

Information of graphical production software based on visual communication design and necessary infrastructure for technical equipment constitutes the course content.


MGT 229  Video Art

The main contents of this course are; the basic concepts of video art, the role of video art in visual communication, the basics of experimental film, the differences of cinema and video art, the bases of video art history and the implementation of video art on audio and video formats.
