ING 101  English I

This is a compulsory English course which provides basic language skills such as reading, writing, listening and speaking at the beginning level.


HYHY 101  Introduction to Civil Aviation

Defines the historical process of civil aviation concepts over the time.


IEU 110  Academic and Social Orientation

The course will help students recognize the skills needed for university life and their career goals. These skills include self-awareness, goal setting, time management, effective communication, mindfulness and analytical thinking. The course will also raise students’ awareness on problems such as addiction and bullying.


TRH 101  Princ. of Atatürk and Hist. of Revol. I

This course provides a general information of the events from the end of the 19. century until the end of the Turkish War of Independence and the signing of the Treaty of Lausanne in 1923.


TRK 101  Turkish I

Students will be taught how to use the written communication tools accurately and efficiently in this course. Various types of written statements will be examined through a critical point of view by doing exercises on understanding, telling, reading, and writing. Punctuation and spelling rules, which are basis of written statement, will be taught and accurate usage of these rules for efficient and strong expression will be provided.


MMAT 113  Mathematics I

Learning of description of basic number concepts, instantiation of numbers, sets, inequalities, problems, equations, functions ve trigonometry


MEKO 101  Microeconomics

The student will be able to express the basic concepts of economics, apply economic analysis methods and analyze the features of economic systems.


MISL 101  Business Administration I

This course aims to provide students the basic concepts, terminology and functions of businesses within the framework of developing world order and global economy.


BILT 100  Introduction to Computer and Information Technology

This course includespplication and content of the Microsoft Office programs.


HYHY 105  Introduction to Ground Services

Cover the operational units and the definitions of services on ground services, equipment and apron vehicles of airport ground services, IATA, passport, visa, airport tax, procedures on customs operations, flight safety, flight irregularities, problem solving techniques, monitoring and execution units.


TRH 102  Princ. of Atatürk and Hist. of Revol. II

With special reference to the Principals of Atatürk the course will examine the philosophy of the foundation and existence of the republican regime as well as the democratic developments in secular Turkey during the twentieth century and in the era of extending globalization.

HYHY 104  Passenger Services I

Civil aviation business organization chart, airport and aircraft passenger entry and exit procedures, aircraft passenger entry and exit procedures will be discussed


HYHY 106  Ground Services and RAMP

Role of the aviation ground services which is an important component of aviation. Ground services types. Factors to be considered in the ground services operations.


HYHY 108  Airport Facilities and Services

Airports, Airport Systems, Components of Airport, Airport Organization, Airports Operational Management, Airports standards and classification


RTV 140  Basic Knowledge of Communication

Definition, purpose and importance of communication, elements of communication process, forms of communication.

Health, safety and security in aviation


TRK 102  Turkish II

Students will be taught how to use the written communication tools accurately and efficiently in this course. There will be exercises on understanding, telling, reading, and writing; types of speeches (panel, symposium, conference, etc.) will be introduced; the student will be equipped with information on using body language, accent and intonation, and presentation techniques.


MYST 104  Summer Training (4 weeks)

Internship, covers field experience at any work place. Students should follow the instructions stated in IUE Internship Guide in order to successfully complete their internships.


HYHY 201  Reservation and Ticket Sales in Aviation

Terms and considerations regarding reservation and ticket, e-ticket coupon status codes, void, refund, rebooking, rerouting procedures, infant and child fees, passenger rights on tickets


HYHY 203  Airline Cargo and Logistics Management

Operational departments and service descriptions of the ground services, airport ground services equipment and apron vehicles, IATA, passports, visas, airport taxes, procedures related to customs procedures, flight safety, flight irregularities, problem-solving techniques, covers the supervision and management departments.


HYHY 205  Navigation and Air Traffic Rules

Aviation and arrival and departure, map reading, radio waves, radar systems, navigation systems and time.


HYHY 207  Strategic Management in Aviation

Strategic management, internal and external environment analysis, SWOT analysis, strategy development in the field of aviation


HYHY 209  Customer Relations Management

CRM and the importance of behavior in flight and service disruptions, online and traditional customer behavior, the cost of customer complaints, problem solving and complaint management


SHKH 203  Dangerous Goods Training

Hazardous material identification, classification and responsibilities in danger goods transportation, emergency procedures.


ING 230  Aviation English for Ground Services I

This course is designed to take English language skills in general and vocational English in routine and non-routine situations to the level of A2+.


MYST 204  Summer Training (4 weeks)

Internship, covers field experience at any work place. Students should follow the instructions stated in IUE Internship Guide in order to successfully complete their internships.

This course focuses on vocabulary and useful language and structures related to operational situtations, unusual events, medical situations, descent, weather conditions, approach and landing problems, landing incidents, circuit joining, landing hazards, taxiing, getting to the gate, and clear communication.
