TRH 101  Princ. of Atatürk and Hist. of Revol. I

This course provides a general information of the events from the end of the 19. century until the end of the Turkish War of Independence and the signing of the Treaty of Lausanne in 1923.


TRK 101  Turkish I

Students will be taught how to use the written communication tools accurately and efficiently in this course. Various types of written statements will be examined through a critical point of view by doing exercises on understanding, telling, reading, and writing. Punctuation and spelling rules, which are basis of written statement, will be taught and accurate usage of these rules for efficient and strong expression will be provided.


ING 101  English I

This is a compulsory English course which provides basic language skills such as reading, writing, listening and speaking at the beginning level.


BILT 100  Introduction to Computer and Information Technology

This course includespplication and content of the Microsoft Office programs.


MMAT 113  Mathematics I

Learning of description of basic number concepts, instantiation of numbers, sets, inequalities, problems, equations, functions ve trigonometry


MINT 101  Statics

This course includes; measurement units, scalar and vectorel quantities, resultant force calculation, moment calculation, isostatic beams and support reactions topics.


MINT 103  Building Materials

This course consist of construction materials, wood and metalic materials, heat, water and fire isolation materials topics.


MINT 105  Technical Drawing

This course consist of basic AutoCAD commands, projections of drawings, perpectives of drawings, basic view of drawings, cross sectioning topics.


IEU 110  Academic and Social Orientation

The course will help students recognize the skills needed for university life and their career goals. These skills include self-awareness, goal setting, time management, effective communication, mindfulness and analytical thinking. The course will also raise students’ awareness on problems such as addiction and bullying.


TRH 102  Princ. of Atatürk and Hist. of Revol. II

With special reference to the Principals of Atatürk the course will examine the philosophy of the foundation and existence of the republican regime as well as the democratic developments in secular Turkey during the twentieth century and in the era of extending globalization.


TRK 102  Turkish II

Students will be taught how to use the written communication tools accurately and efficiently in this course. There will be exercises on understanding, telling, reading, and writing; types of speeches (panel, symposium, conference, etc.) will be introduced; the student will be equipped with information on using body language, accent and intonation, and presentation techniques.


ING 102  English II

This is a compulsory English course which provides basic language skills such as reading, writing, listening and speaking at the beginning level.


MINT 102  Strength of Structural Elements

Center of gravity. Moment of inertia. Tension, compression and shear stresses. Torsion. Unidirectional deflection.


MINT 104  Computer Aided Drawing

2D drawing and dimensioning of constructional project drawings by using a basic CAD program.


MINT 106  Concrete Technology

Concrete, aggregate , cement, Binding materials.


MYST 104  Summer Training (4 weeks)

Internship, covers field experience at any work place. Students should follow the instructions stated in IUE Internship Guide in order to successfully complete their internships.


MMAT 114  Mathematics 2

This course includes: Equations, Functions, Trigonometry, Geometric concepts and Limit, Derivative and Integral


MINT 201  Insulation Technology

Interactions of water and building elements, the damages of water on structures, application procedures, thermal insulation, general information about the energy, basic information about the temperature and heat transfer, the definitions of sound, noise, frequency decibels, sound intensity, physical and psychological effects of noise, sound insulation materials and application procedures, relevant regulations, fire insulation and fire-proofing materials.


MINT 203  Prefabricated Structures

This course consist of prefabricated structures and installation topics.


MINT 205  Construction Machines

Operating cost. Engines, compressors, lifting and conveying machinery, drilling and folding machines, excavation and filling calculations


MINT 207  Project Etude and Application

Subject of the project. Requirement analysis and work program. Carrying out a project. Presenting a project. Filing a project


MINT 209  Water Supply and Transmission

Drinkable water. Irrigation water. Water for generating energy. Water need. Flow of water supply. Water need. Flow of water supply. Surface waters. Underground waters. Transmission.


MINT 202  Construction Meter and Cost

Meter quantities. Unit Cost Determination, Approximete price calculations. Tenderer committee, general, technical and special contracts. Public tender act. Proposal documents.


MINT 204  Site Organisation

Projects, tender processes, contacts, Establishment of the construction site and make the organization ,working programme, Control services


MINT 206  Construction Repair and Reinforcement

Damage determination. Non-destructive testing. Reinforcement and repairing in consturctions


MYST 204  Summer Training (4 weeks)

MINT 250  Reinforced Concrete

This course contains reinforced concrete, beam, column, floor and foundation topics.


MISG 101  Occupational Health And Safety
