Protocol that will create opportunities for young people

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Vocational School collaborated with TPI Composites, a turbine blade manufacturer based in the United States, operating in the field of wind energy. Within the scope of the protocol, TPI Composites will give priority to the students of Izmir University of Economics during the internship period. Company executives will share their knowledge and experience with the students as guests of the lectures.
A new collaboration has been added to improve the educational opportunities of students at Izmir University of Economics, the founder of CampusIzmir, the first model of university-city integration in Turkey. IUE Vocational School has developed a cooperation with TPI Composites, which plays an important role in the spread of wind energy, and paved the way for students to get to know the business world before they graduate.
NEW COURSE WILL BE OFFERED
Experts working within TPI Composites will share their knowledge with students as guests in the ‘Alternative Energy and Composite Materials’ course, which will be opened for the first time this year at IUE Vocational School. IUE students will meet people with industry experience and will improve themselves in line with the needs and demands of the industry. TPI Composites, on the other hand, will be able to receive support from IUE academics on academic consultancy, in-house training and organizational processes. IUE students, who will also have priority in internship, will stand out among their peers.
WE ARE UPDATING INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES
The protocol between IUE and TPI Composites was signed by Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Hakan Abacıoğlu and TPI Composites Human Resources Director Serhan Sayiner. We will now offer the ‘Alternative Energy and Composite Materials’ course as an elective to students in the Vocational School. Our aim here is to raise awareness among young people and increase their level of knowledge.”
THEY WILL ALSO MAKE TECHNICAL VISITS

The protocol signed with TPI Composites, which includes many professionals and carries out important operations, is very important for both our students and our University. Persons to be appointed by the company within the scope of the protocol will meet with our students in the lessons. In addition to these trainings, students will also participate in technical trips that will take place during the semester. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the development of the cooperation and wish this protocol to be beneficial for both parties.” TPI Composites Human Resources Director Serhan Sayiner stated that they aim to increase their cooperation with IUE in the coming period and expressed their pleasure to be a part of the process.
