Course Objectives The aim of this course is to enable the students to use texts, images, sounds and animations in various communication environments, to arrange hands-on group / individual workshops in class hours for creative designs and to understand the applications of multimedia in the theoretical and practical way.

WEEKLY SUBJECTS AND RELATED PREPARATION STUDIES

1 Introduction, presentation of the course flow and evaluation criteria. Introduction to Project 1 Pre study on trailers and transition effects.
2 Multimedia Project 1: Trailer Design New trailer design for existing production. Making film choices to work on. Active design process, gathering ideas and giving feedback in the classroom. Film alternatives to work on.
3 Multimedia Project 1: Working on storyboard and timeplan of new trailer. Active design process on editing and in class feedbacks. Storyboard and timeplan.
4 Multimedia Project 1: Feedbacks on the new trailer designs. On going editing process, and studies about title animation. Pre study on editing. Examples about title animation.
5 Multimedia Project 1: Duedate. Duedate for Project 1
6 Introduction to Project 2 Introduction to the project. Examination of briefs. Description of the project by examining the digital examples.
7 Multimedia Project 2: Process / Infographic Animation Selection of an event or a case to become a geniune and free style kinetic animation. Storyboard and scenario studies. Selection of an event or a case to work on.
8 Multimedia Project 2: Preperation of the materials to work with. Active design process and feedback about the techniques and styles. Gathering information about the case / event that is selected. Animation technique and style research.
9 Multimedia Project 2: Feedbacks on the first drafts. Materials and drafts for taking 1st feedback.
10 Multimedia Project 2: Duedate. Duedate for Project 2
11 Introduction to Final Project Music Video Clip & Lyrics Animation A new, free style (2D Animation, Video Production, Stop Motion etc.) and geniune video production design to an existinng music video. Song selection and scenario preparations. Introduction to the final project. Examination of briefs. Description of the project by examining the digital examples.
12 Final Project: Feedback for the selected styles, prepared storyboards and scenarios. Preparations fort he materials needed for production. Storyboard and scenarios for taking feedback.
13 Final Project: Feedbacks on the first drafts. 1st draft designs for taking feedback.
14 Final Project: Feedbacks on the revised designs. Almost finished revised projects for taking the last feedback before the final week duedate.
15 Evaluation of the term Presentations
16 Submission of the final project
