Course Objectives This course aims to provide the knowledge and capabilities on the planning and executing the tasks such as reservation, ticketing, ticket-baggage operations, apron terminal services, coordination of flight services, handling services, special service applications and enabling coordination with units during the flight operations, enabling loading and controlling of load, coordinating the airplane parking places with air controlling units, monitoring of delayed flights. It is aimed to educate the sophisticated candidates who will work for the management of businesses and ground operations in the aviation sector; making decisions quickly, thinking conceptually and executing the activities at the operational level.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • will be able to define the definitions of ground services and airports, customer services at the airport, the aviation training system in Turkey.
  • will be able to describe IATA geography.
  • will be able to learn airport terminals, operational units, equipment which is used in the ground services at the airport.
  • will be able to interpret the special passengers and the concepts and operations regarding with these passengers.
  • will be able to apply all the steps regarding with passport, visa, airport tax, transaction stamp, customs, and monetary operations.
  • will be able to classify the relationship among the main functions of airline companies and classify their interactions.
Course Description Cover the operational units and the definitions of services on ground services, equipment and apron vehicles of airport ground services, IATA, passport, visa, airport tax, procedures on customs operations, flight safety, flight irregularities, problem solving techniques, monitoring and execution units.
